Arnold Byun is a Korean American entrepreneur, brand strategist, and creative director known for building brands and communities at the intersection of culture, food, and design.

He is the Founder of WONE, a creative consultancy that partners with culturally rooted businesses — from restaurants and hospitality ventures to consumer goods — to shape brand strategy and storytelling. He is also Co-Founder of MAUM, a premium Asian makers’ platform that operates both traveling pop-up markets (MAUM Market) and permanent retail stores (MAUM Store, with locations in NYC, Orange County, and San Francisco).

In addition, he co-founded Partners Place, a cross-border support system helping Korean startups establish and scale their businesses in the U.S. through company formation, banking, and operational infrastructure. Byun also serves as U.S. Store Development Director at Kayanoya, a Japanese heritage dashi brand expanding into Manhattan, and as Creative Director of SŌHN, a Korean-inspired café, restaurant, and gathering space in San Francisco’s Dogpatch neighborhood.

Beyond his ventures, Byun frequently speaks on themes of community, belonging, and cultural storytelling — presenting frameworks such as “The Business of Belonging” to international founder cohorts at institutions like Stanford. His work often emphasizes collaboration, intentional brand building, and creating platforms that celebrate Asian craft and culture.
